3rd Annual Global Microfinance Congress
The 3rd Annual Microfinance Investment Congress is to be held from May 24 to 26 2010 in New York City.
The Microfinance Investment Congress is the premier event for Microfinance Investment Vehicles (MIVs), Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and other industry stakeholders in the value chain, to meet, collaborate, and share best practices.
Triple Jump director Steven Evers will be addressing conference participants on the topic of investing in 2nd and 3rd Tier MFIs on day one of the congress. The discussion will center on overcoming barriers to access attractive financing for this type of MFI. Questions to be addressed include:
- Addressing the needs of the lesser known tier 2 and tier 3 MFIs that are having major impacts in their respective markets
- How has the financial crisis impacted the portfolio quality and financial performance of second and third tier MFIs?
- Challenges of finding and funding tier 2 and tier 3 MFIs
- Where are they accessing financing for growth?
- Potential solutions for overcoming unbalanced capital distribution
