Erik previously spent eight years with the international /special credit department of IFN Finance, a subsidiary of ABN AMRO, followed by nine years with Triodos International Fund, where he worked as (senior) investment officer for microfinance and fair trade. Erik joined Triple Jump in 2007.

He has a Masters in Development Studies from the University of Utrecht, is a Dutch national and speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and German.
